Cougars Independence Day Celebration Includes Bobblehead Giveaway and Military Appreciation Night

Five nights with post-game fireworks shows and an all-you-can-eat picnic on the right field deck

GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars are celebrating Independence Day all weekend long with a multitude of activities throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Beginning on Thursday, June 29 and continuing until Monday, July 3 fans will be treated to theme nights, a bobblehead giveaway, five post-game fireworks shows and an all-you-can-eat picnic on the right field deck as well as family fun that everyone can enjoy as the Cougars take on the Clinton LumberKings (Seattle Mariners) and Peoria Chiefs (St. Louis Cardinals). Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the box office at 630-232-8811 or by visiting kccougars.com.

A look at the Independence Day weekend homestand is below:

Thursday, June 29 - 6:30 PM vs. Clinton LumberKings (gates open at 5:30 PM) - Craig Sager Night

  • Craig Sager Night - Staff will sport SagerStrong Foundation t-shirts as we celebrate the legacy of the legendary sideline reporter. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for that night's game will be donated to the SagerStrong Foundation.
  • Craig Sager Bobblehead Giveaway - The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Craig Sager bobblehead.
  • Thirsty Thursday - $1 select beers, sodas and hot dogs, presented by Miller Lite.
  • Fireworks - Enjoy post-game fireworks, presented by Miller Lite, set to an 80's playlist.
  • Run the Bases - Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).
  • Autographs - Sam Lewis signing in the Team Store.

 

Friday, June 30 - 6:30 PM vs. Peoria Chiefs (gates open 5:30 PM) - Minions Night

  • Family Four Pack Fireworks Friday - Four reserved seat tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas plus a giant bag of popcorn for $39. Must be purchased in advance. Not available day of game.
  • Brookfield Zoo Ticket Giveaway - First 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a free general admission ticket for Brookfield Zoo.
  • Fireworks - A dazzling post-game fireworks show, set to modern pop music, will light up the sky.
  • Autographs - Luis Silverio signing in the Team Store.
  • Run the Bases - Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).

 

Saturday, July 1 - 6:30 PM vs. Peoria Chiefs (gates open at 4:30 PM) - Military Appreciation Night

  • Military Appreciation Night - All branches of the military will be honored throughout the night, presented by Miller Lite.
  • Camo Cap Giveaway - The first 1,500 fans age 21 and over will receive a camo cap, presented by Miller Lite.
  • Big Band Boom! Concert - Pre-game concert in the Acres Music Garden with a patriotic show from Big Band Boom!
  • Sky Dive Chicago Landing - Members from Sky Dive Chicago will dive from planes and land in the outfield approximately 20 minutes before first pitch.
  • Rolling Thunder - Pre-game silent ceremony on the field honoring missing comrades and civilians.
  • Fireworks - Enjoy a spectacular patriotic post-game fireworks show, presented by Miller Lite.
  • Autographs - Jake Winston signing in the Team Store.
  • Run the Bases - Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).

 

Sunday, July 2 - 6:30 PM vs. Peoria Chiefs (gates open at 5:15 PM) - Sunday Funday

  • Sunday Funday - half-price wristbands and discounts in the KidZone, presented by Dave & Buster's.
  • Kids Eat Free - kids age 3-10 receive a voucher at the gate for a free soda and hot dog.
  • Team Set Giveaway - First 1,000 fans will receive a 2017 Cougars baseball card set, courtesy of Comfort Inn & Suites.
  • Pre-game Autographs - Cougars players will be on hand for a pre-game autograph session on the field.
  • Extreme Pogo - In-game entertainment will be provided by the Extreme Pogo Stunt Team.
  • Fireworks - A post-game fireworks show set to a country playlist will light up the sky, presented by Comfort Inn & Suites.
  • Autographs - Ryan Atkinson signing in the Team Store.
  • Run the Bases - Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).

 

Monday, July 3 - 6:30 PM vs. Peoria Chiefs (gates open at 4:30 PM) - Independence Day Celebration

  • Back Country Roads - Pre-game country concert in the Acres Music Garden from Back Country Roads.
  • All-You-Can-Eat Picnic - Picnic on the right field deck. Reservations are required.
  • Gas Card Giveaway - The first 1,500 fans age 16 and over will receive a gas card, courtesy of The PRIDE Stores.
  • Mattress Firm Foster Kids - Donations of school supplies will be collected at Gates 1 and 3.
  • Fireworks - Fans will be treated to a spectacular EXTEDEND patriotic themed fireworks show, presented by Mattress Firm.
  • Autographs - Ozzie and Annie T. Cougar signing in the Team Store.
  • Run the Bases - Fans of all ages may run the bases after the game (weather permitting).  
  • Tree Sapling Exit Giveaway - Fans will receive a tree sapling to take home and plant, courtesy of The PRIDE Stores emissions program, Purpose.
