GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, minor league affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, along with Minor League Baseball (MiLB), announced that the Cougars will partake in a new multi-cultural fan engagement platform aimed at connecting with Hispanic/Latino baseball fans during the week of August 10-13. Tickets for the Cougars four-game homestand are on sale now by calling 630-232-8811 or by visiting kccougars.com.

The Es Divertido Ser Un Fan initiative expands on MiLB's fan-centric marketing campaign It's Fun to be a Fan, that was unveiled in March. The Spanish-translated campaign provides teams with an additional option to better connect with and engage fans in culturally-relevant ways.

Of the five counties surrounding Chicago's Cook County, Kane County, Ill. has the largest population of U.S. Hispanic residents.

"Our goal has always been to provide affordable, family fun for all area residents," said Vice President and General Manager Curtis Haug. "Our Spanish-language outreach will encourage even more families to enjoy Kane County Cougars baseball."

The Cougars Hispanic Heritage night will kick off with a pre-game concert from local Santana Tribute Band, Rico, in the Acres Music Garden at 4:45 PM. Fans will be treated to traditional performances from a mariachi band and Ballet Folklorico with food specials available at the South of the Border Cart including 50% off margaritas and daiquiris. Nachos and the Nacho Grande, available at the concessions stands, will also be half-price.

In addition, an online jersey auction will take place beginning on Thursday, August 10 featuring the unique gold colored Los Cougars jersey the team will be sporting throughout the four-game homestand. A portion of the proceeds from the online jersey auction will benefit Centro de Información, a not-for-profit Hispanic social service agency located in Elgin, Ill. Fans who wish to bid on the game-worn jerseys can do so by visiting qtego.net/qlink/cougars. Registration is required to submit a bid. Bids can also be made by texting COUGARS to 79230. The online auction will close in the 7th inning of the game on Sunday, August 13.
