GENEVA, Ill. - After a regular season filled with numerous team records and individual accolades, the Kane County Cougars are in the postseason and aiming for the Midwest League Championship!
Cougars playoff tickets are on sale now! The Cougars opened the postseason with a series sweep of Wisconsin in first round play and swept Cedar Rapids in the second round. The Cougars will face Lake County, which defeated Fort Wayne to advance in the Eastern Division Championship Series. This is the Cougars' first trip to the league championship series since 2006. Kane County is aiming to win the second league championship in franchise history, which occurred in 2001 and featured present-day Major Leaguers such as Miguel Cabrera and Adrian Gonzalez.
The MWL Championship Series is a best-of-five series that will open on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. The Cougars will also host Game 2 of the series on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. before the series continues in Ohio for games on Saturday as well as Sunday and Monday if necessary.
For a limited time (through Tuesday 9/9 at midnight), fans can purchase a reserved seat ticket with a hot dog for either of the two home playoff games for only $5. Thursday's game is also a Thirsty Thursday with $1 select beers, sodas and hot dogs.
