The 2014 season, which will be the 24th season of Cougars baseball in Chicagoland includes numerous promotional acts, special events and theme nights which will give fans a great deal of excitement for the upcoming season. In January, the Cougars announced 20 theme nights including a pair of Star Wars Nights, three different Bark in the Park dog nights and other fun events such as NIU Night and Back to School Night.

In addition to the above promotional nights, ballpark organist Nancy Faust will play live organ music before and during every Sunday home game beginning on May 4. Select Sundays are also "Kids Eat Free" dates with a complimentary hot dog and soda voucher given to kids age 3-10. The Jesse White Tumblers will perform their high-flying routine following every Saturday game beginning May 3 and Thirsty Thursdays, with $1 beers, sodas and even hot dogs begin on May 15 and include every Thursday home game from May through the end of the season, excluding July 3. A total of 27 home dates will feature a post-game fireworks show.
