Hickory, NC- The Texas Rangers have announced their monthly minor league awards for April, with Hickory Crawdads outfielder Lewis Brinson being honored as the Rangers Minor League Defender of the Month.

At the plate, Brinson batted .287 (25-87) with 3 doubles, 3 home runs, 11 RBI, 4 stolen bases, and 17 runs for the Crawdads. Brinson was selected in the first round (29th overall) of the 2012 June draft.

Two other former 'Dads also were honored by the Rangers as well, as Round Rock's Nick Tepesch (2011) and Myrtle Beach's Joey Gallo (2013) were named the organization's Minor League Pitcher and Hitter of the Month respectively. Express reliever Matt West was also honored, taking home the Reliever of the Month award.
