Odor had a two-run triple in the fourth and followed that with a three-run triple in the seventh. He became the second-youngest player in the American League to have two triples in a game, trailing only hall-of-famer Jimmy Foxx. Odor is also the first player to have two triples, a double and five RBI since Rogers Hornsby turned the trick in 1916.

In the same game, Nick Martinez ('12 P/ Texas) picked up his first major league win with a six-inning start. He allowed one run on eight hits and struck out two to even his record at 1-1.

BIRTHDAYS:

He made 15 starts for Hickory and went 6-7 with a 5.08 ERA In 78 innings, Lincoln struck out 56, walked 12, and allowed 49 runs (44 earned) on 97 hits. His 0.87 walks per nine innings is the third lowest for a season (50 + innings) in club history. He finished out 2008 at high-A Lynchburg and then spent 2009 at AA Altoona and AAA Indianapolis. Lincoln made his major league debut with the Pirates on June 9, 2010. He proceeded to split time between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis until 2012 trade sent him to Toronto. Lincoln stayed with the Blue Jays in 2013 and began this season at Philadelphia. He is now with the Phillies AAA club at Lehigh Valley.

His ratio of 9.11 strikeouts per nine innings is the ninth best in club history for a season. Overall, Ramirez holds the club record for hit batters (31), is third in games started, and is sixth in strikeouts. After one start with high-A Myrtle Beach in 2011, Ramirez was sent to AAA Round Rock. From then until 2013, he split time between the Express and AA Round Rock until a trade sent him to the Cubs. After starting this season with AAA Iowa, Ramirez made his big league debut with Chicago on April 25.

Chris Young ('01-'02, P) turns 35. The native of Dallas, TX was the third round pick of the Pirates in 2000 out of Princeton (NJ) University. He went 16-12 in 28 starts with three complete games and a 3.45 ERA. In 219 innings, Young struck out 208, walked 54, and allowed 96 runs (84 earned) on 206 hits. Young's 1.11 WHIP in 2002 is the seventh best in a season in the club's history. Overall, Young is fifth in strikeouts and wins, and sixth in games started and innings pitched. An off-season trade sent him to the Expos for the 2003 season, when he pitched at high-A Brevard County and AA Harrisburg. Young was traded to the Rangers at the start of 2004 and on August 24 of that year he made his big league debut. He remained with Texas through 2005 before a swap sent him to San Diego.
