Hickory, NC- The Hickory Crawdads have announced a pair of Christian Concerts for the 2017 season. Aaron Shust, presented by Catawba County Social Services, Hickory Christian Academy and 106.9 The Light will perform after the 'Dads game on Saturday, May 13th, while the Chick-fil-A Christian Concert on Saturday, August 5th will feature Building 429, presented by Catawba County Social Services, Gardner-Webb University, and 106.9 The Light.
Suites, Party Patios, Picnics, and group tickets are on sale now for both concerts, with individual tickets going on sale at the Crawdads Spring Fling event on Saturday, March 11th. Tickets include admission to both the game and post-game concert.
Bursting on to the scene a decade ago, Aaron Shust was named both New Artist and Songwriter of the Year at the 2007 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and his song "My Savior My God" was recognized with the Song of the Year honor.
Shust is also well known for such hits as "My Hope is in You," which spent 14 weeks at No. 1, "No One Higher," which hit the summit on the Inspirational chart and "Ever Be," which made its way to No. 3 on the NCA chart.
"I've always said that in a concert setting I want people to worship," says Shust. "I am always encouraging people to sing along. The biggest compliment I can receive after a concert is when someone says, 'that was less of a concert and more of a church service, more of a worship experience.'"
Building 429 broke through in 2005 with "Glory Defined," which was named BMI's Christian Song of the Year. The hit reached No.1 on eight different radio charts, including Christian Radio Weekly's Adult Contemporary Chart in which it rose to No. 1 faster than any other single in the publication's history. That same year, Building 429 was named New Artist of the Year at the Gospel Music Association's Dove Awards and were nominated in the Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year and Song of the Year categories.
The band has since spent over a decade in the national spotlight, with their most recent album Unashamed released in 2015. They have toured with Casting Crowns, tobyMac and others as well as headlining several treks.
