The Williamsport Crosscutters, Class-A Short Season affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have released the schedule for their 2014 season that will include 38 home games against nine different New York-Penn League opponents at Historic Bowman Field.
The Crosscutters open and close the season at home against the rival State College Spikes (St. Louis Cardinals). Opening Night 2014 is slated for Friday, June 13 at 7:05pm against the Spikes. The season concludes with a September 1 (Labor Day) home game with State College.
The Crosscutters will be home on July 4 hosting Auburn, with a scheduled game time of 1:05pm. All Monday-Saturday home contests will again begin at 7:05pm with Sunday home games starting at 5:05pm. The exceptions are the 1:05pm game times on July 4 and September 1.
"We are excited about starting and ending the season a few days earlier than normal," said Crosscutters VP/GM Doug Estes. "This should help attendance not only in Williamsport but for teams across the league, as games in late August and early September traditionally see crowds decrease across the Minor Leagues."
Once again this season, all Cutters games, home and away, will be broadcast on ESPN 1050AM & 104.1FM plus affiliates on the Crosscutters Radio Network. Broadcasts will also be streamed online at crosscutters.com.
The club's preliminary promotional schedule will be announced at a later date.
