The Crosscutters were named the New York-Penn League Leo Pinckney Promotional Award Winner, earning the league's nomination for the Larry MacPhail Trophy, awarded annually by Minor League Baseball; to the team with the most outstanding promotional effort in 2013.
The Cutters 2013 Promotional Schedule was jam packed with everything from a Tom O'Malley bobble head giveaway to fun theme nights including Redneck Night, Salute to Bacon and Star Wars Night which brought over 10 costumed members of the 501st Legion to Historic Bowman Field.
"We take having fun seriously," said Crosscutters Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations Gabe Sinicropi. "Our staff takes great pride in what we do and how we do it, whether it's a giveaway, special ballpark guest or just the entertainment elements that we present between innings or before or after games. To our staff, every night is Opening Night."
Special guests at Historic Bowman Field this past season included local and Japanese League baseball legend Tom O'Malley, former 30-game winner Denny McLain, 4-time World Series Champion and former Williamsport Bill Jeff Nelson, Duck Dynasty's "Mountain Man" and more.
"Receiving this award is a great tribute to our veteran front office staff along with our owners Paul Velte and the late John Schreyer and the stability and success we have been able to bring to the Susquehanna Valley over the last 20 years," said team Vice President General Manager Doug Estes. "We are very proud of the bond we have fostered with our fans and the business community and look forward to continuing to promote the great American Pastime at Historic Bowman Field for years to come."
