WILLIAMSPORT - Samuel Hiciano's two-home run, eight RBI night leads the Cutters to an 11-0 win over the Batavia Muckdogs.
Herlis Rodriguez led off the Cutters 1st with a wall-ball double to right field to give the Cutters a runner in scoring position. Domingo German would retire the next three Cutters to leave Rodriguez stranded at 2nd base. The double was the first hit for Rodriguez as a Crosscutter.
Samuel Hiciano got the Cutters on the board in the 4th inning with a two-run double down the left field line to plate Justin Parr and Dylan Cozens to make it 2-0 Cutters.
Muckdogs starter Domingo German would be replaced by James Wooster in the 6th inning. German allowed two runs, both earned, on three hits in five innings of work. German walked one while striking out seven Cutters. German was on the hook for the loss when he was replaced.
In the 6th inning Williamsport got back on the board when Zach Green doubled home Justin Parr to make it 3-0. It was Green's 19th double of the season. Hiciano got at it again when he drilled a James Wooster offering over the left field wall for his 5th home run of the season. The home run plated Dylan Cozens and Zach Green to make it 6-0 Cutters. Malquin Canelo capped the scoring in the inning with a RBI single to center that plated Sam Dove to make it 7-0.
In the 7th inning, Williamsport piled on to their lead. Dylan Cozens doubled to deep right to plate Justin Parr and make it 8-0 Cutters. It was Cozens 15th double of the season. Hiciano continued to terrorize Muckdogs pitching when he lined a Patrick Merkling offering over the left field wall for his 2nd home run of the game and 6th on the season. The home run plated Dylan Cozens and Zach Green to make it 11-0 Cutters.
Keivi Rojas, Josh Warner and Tyler Buckley combined for four scoreless innings of relief to close the game for the Cutters.
Cutters Carvings: Williamsport has yet to fall four games under .500 this season… Samuel Hiciano is the 3rd Cutter to hit two home runs in one game… Hiciano is the first Cutter with eight RBI in one game this season…
