Norwich, CT -The Connecticut Tigers in conjunction with Bacon Academy and Norwich Free Academy are proud to announce the addition of high school soccer to the Dodd Stadium calendar this fall.
"We are excited to partner with the Tigers. This is a great opportunity for our kids to play at a great facility," said Bacon Academy Athletic Director Kevin Burke. "Due to the uniqueness of the setting and two great schools, we expect great support of this event from the community."
On Wednesday September 25th the Bacon Academy and Norwich Free Academy Girls Soccer teams will square off at 6:30 p.m. at Dodd Stadium. The two schools' Boys Soccer teams will take to the Dodd Stadium pitch the following night on Thursday September 26th also at 6:30 p.m. Gates will open for both games at 5:30 p.m.
"We are thrilled to bring a new type of sports event to Dodd Stadium this fall. We thought it was a perfect event for this venue and a great way to bring in the fall season" said Tigers Vice President and General Manager C.J. Knudsen. "It should be a fun atmosphere in the ballpark and a tremendous experience for the players."
Tickets for each game will be sold at the gate. Ticket prices will be $5 for adults and $2 for students and children 12 & under.
The Connecticut Tigers are the New York- Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game (38 home, 38 away) schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2014 season tickets are now on sale!
