NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers, Class-A Affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are proud to unveil their 2017 promotional schedule. The 2017 season kicks off at Dodd Stadium on Monday, June 19th against the the Tri-City ValleyCats at 7:05 pm. The night will feature a 2017 magnet schedule giveaway for the first 4,000 fans presented by Dime Bank in addition to post-game fireworks! Fans are encouraged to visit the full promotional schedule at cttigers.com as more promotions are added throughout the spring and summer!
The 2017 schedule is highlighted by eight fireworks shows taking place following each Friday home game as well as Opening Night and Tuesday, July 4th. Fans will also be treated to a total of seven giveaway items during the course of the season including a one-of-a-kind bobblehead doll giveaway. Saturday, August 5th will be Summer of George Night highlighted by an "Assistant to the Traveling Secretary" bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,000 fans as we celebrate everyone's favorite sitcom.
Other giveaways include a limited edition poster on Saturday, July 22nd presented by Savings Institute Bank & Trust, a CT Tigers snapback hat on Saturday, July 29th presented by Buckle Up Connecticut, a CT Tigers t-shirt on Saturday, August 13th presented by Norwich Free Academy and the 2017 team photo giveaway on August 26th presented by CHET.
On Saturday, July 22nd fans will be entertained by national traveling act the Inflatamaniacs! You won't want to miss this group of wacky inflatable kids making numerous appearances throughout the night!
In addition to Friday Fireworks and giveaways every Saturday, other weekly promotions include Kids Eat Free Mondays presented by US Foods and CT Family Magazine, Tuesday Dollar Dogs presented by Kayem, Tuesday Night Senior Night, the Wednesday Family Four Pack deal, Thirsty Thursday featuring pre-game Happy Hour beginning at 5 pm, and the return of Kids Run the Bases presented by Ben & Jerry's as well as Have a Catch following every Sunday home game.
In addition to Summer of George Night, theme nights in 2017 are highlighted by fan favorites Military Appreciation Night presented by the Better Business Bureau Military Line (August 11) and Norwich Navigators Night presented by Savings Institute Bank & Trust (August 25). 2017 will also see the return of Country Music Night presented by 97.7 WCTY (June 30) and First Responder Night presented by Backus & Windham Hospitals (July 28). The Fourth of July Celebration will feature fireworks and is presented by Navy Federal Credit Union. The Tigers will also celebrate Labor Day on September 4th with a special 4:05 pm gametime.
New this season will be the first annual "Making Summer Fun" campaign of special prizes for a lucky fan at select home games. One fan in attendance will be selected to win prizes such as: a summer supply of Pepsi (July 20), a summer supply of Kayem hot dogs and hamburgers (June 29), a custom set of cornhole boards courtesy of Kernel's Corn Hole Boards (July 6), a custom bobblehead doll (August 23), a private batting practice event at Dodd Stadium for ten guests (June 28), a custom set of baseball cards for you and eight friends (June 21), a skydiving experience (June 19), the chance to coach first base for one half inning (July 12), and more to be announced! In addition, on August 12th, select fans will have the chance to take part in a post-game "Remote Dig". The fan that finds the remote control buried in the warning track at Dodd Stadium will win a brand new TV courtesy of Bousquet Appliances!
The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, Connecticut.
