Baseball Bash Starts 15th Season of Baseball on March 2

Fans can purchase single-game tickets as well as pick up pre-purchased Pirates-Curve tickets at the event

CURVE, Pa.- The Altoona Curve will be hosting their annual Baseball Bash  event from 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday, March 2 at Peoples Natural Gas Field.  Baseball Bash serves as a kick start to the Curve's 15th season of baseball and will be the first chance for fans to purchase tickets to individual games.  It will also be the first chance for fans that pre-purchased Pirates-Curve Exhibition tickets to pick-up their commemorative tickets for the game.  

Season ticket holders and mini-plan holders will be able to pick up their ticket packages for the upcoming season and their tickets to the Pirates-Curve exhibition game to the right of the main gates across from the Stockyard.  

Those fans that have already purchased tickets to the Pirates-Curve exhibition game will also be able to pick up their special commemorative ticket for that game at the box office windows.  Tickets for this game will not be mailed out, and picking them up in advance can help fans avoid a line at the box office on the day of the game.  For those fans that cannot make it to Baseball Bash, Pirates-Curve ticket pickup will be available at the box office during normal business hours starting on Monday, March 4.

Standing room tickets for the Pirates-Curve Exhibition are currently on sale now but moving fast.  Those interested in purchasing these tickets prior to Baseball Bash can do so over the phone at 877.99.CURVE, online at AltoonaCurve.com or by stopping by the offices at Peoples Natural Gas Field.  The Stockyard will also have commemorative Pirates-Curve exhibition t-shirts available throughout the event as well.   

National Anthem Tryouts will be held at the Bash from 9 a.m.-noon.  All fans interested in singing the anthem before a Curve game this season must try out in order to be considered.  The confirmed judges for the tryouts are Central PA's Premiere EntertainerSteve Summerhill, Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter Amy Gill of WTAJ-TV, Rocky 104.9's The X-Man Dave Troxell, Sports Anchor Mike Tressa of WJAC-TV and Altoona Area High School Choral Director Kelly Latten.

Families will also be able to register their children who are 12 and under for the free Galliker's Curve Kids' Club during Baseball Bash.  This free club provides its members with one free ticket to ten select games.  Other Kids Club' benefits include a picture day with the Curve team on Saturday, June 8, the chance to interview a Curve player on Monday, June 24, and an ice cream birthday party for mascots on Thursday, July 11 in addition to other exclusive club benefits.   

The 2013 Silver Steamers Club, which is presented by Homewood Retirement Communities at Martinsburg & Everett, will also be taking applications at the event.  This exclusive club is for fans 55 and over and includes one diamond club ticket for five select Curve games for just $25 (a $50 value).  The first 200 members who sign up will receive an exclusive limited edition coffee mug that can be used for $1 refills at Peoples Natural Gas Field throughout the 2013 season and a Silver Steamers Club T-shirt.   

New items for the Kid Zone this upcoming season will be on display in the main ticket plaza for all to see as well.  Sandy Candy, which is edible sand art, and a newtemporary tattoo machine, along with some carnival games will be available to keep fans entertained throughout the event.  The carnival-style games will offer a variety of experience prizes, and one lucky winner will receive a pair of standing room only tickets to the Pirates-Curve exhibition game on March 30.

15th Season Bobblehead #3 Voting Station 
- Cast your votes in the first-round matchups for our 15th season Bobblehead contest. This final bracket covers the 2009-present era of Curve baseball.

Name Those Curve Players 
- We've dug through our archives and found 25 old headshots from the many players that have put on a Curve uniform. Try your hand at matching up all 25 players with their headshots to win. One winner will win a pair of Pirates-Curve Exhibition Tickets (standing-room)

Before & After 
- Since this will be season No. 15 in Curve, Pa., we've decided to test your memory with Before & After. We've picked 15 events in team history and you must put them in chronological order from most oldest to newest. One winner will win a pair of Pirates-Curve Exhibition Tickets (standing-room)

Lucky Toss 
- Each fan that purchases tickets or picks up season tickets/mini plans during Baseball Bash will receive a ticket good for one toss in our sea of cups! Possible prizes in the cups include: a 2013 flex book, first pitches, an inning as a PA announcer, Exhibition game T-shirts & more!

Baseball Bash will also include coffee and hot chocolate to help keep fans warm and an assortment of treats courtesy of Panera Bread (while supplies last).
