Bell bobblehead, three fireworks shows and more highlight upcoming Curve homestand

Altoona welcomes Richmond and Portland for seven games beginning Friday night

The first-place Altoona Curve return to Peoples Natural Gas Field this weekend to begin a seven-game homestand against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.

The homestand kicks off with the Josh Bell "I Gotta Have More Cow-Bell" bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,500 fans, presented by Nuts for You, on Friday night as part of Tribute to WIll Ferrell Night. There will be on-field games and more themed around the popular actor. The giveaway features former Altoona Curve outfielder/first baseman Josh Bell (2014-15) dressed up as Ferrell in the famous Saturday Night Live sketch from 2000.

First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the gates open up at 6 p.m. With a limited supply of this giveaway item, the Curve encourage fans wishing to take home a bobblehead to arrive early.
The series continues with a double-header on Saturday at PNG Field, making up a rain-postponed game from April. The first game of the twinbill will start at 4 p.m., with the second game following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. The double-header will consist of two seven-inning games, and fans only need one ticket to attend both games.
A spectacular fireworks show themed to the music of The Beatles will follow the second game of the night.
The Curve wrap up their series with Richmond on Sunday evening, and the game will be followed by another spectacular fireworks show! Plus, we'll have an appearance by everyone's favorite rescue dogs, Chase and Marshall!
After an off day on Monday, the Curve return to the field on Tuesday to welcome the Sea Dogs for their only trip to Peoples Natural Gas Field this season. It will be Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Atlantic Broadband, featuring buy-one, get-one-free specials on tickets, hot dogs and small popcorn.
On Wednesday, there be a rare mid-week fireworks show, and it will be themed to country hits from the 1990s! It will also be a Winning Wednesday, presented by the PA Lottery, and fans have the chance to win prizes, including free lottery tickets for a month.
The homestand wraps up on Thursday with Thirstday, presented by Q94, featuring $2 specials on 16 oz. Yuengling drafts and regular-size sodas, plus $1 Kunzler-brand hot dogs.
