CURVE, Pa. - Former American Idol finalist Aaron Kelly has been added to the lineup for the 20th Season Kick-Off Concert, presented by Sheetz, at Peoples Natural Gas Field on September 23, the Curve announced on Monday.
Kelly, who grew up and resides in central Pennsylvania, joins a lineup that includes country music stars Sawyer Brown and Phil Vassar for the upcoming concert at PNG Field.
Kelly finished fifth in season nine of American Idol in 2010, becoming the youngest contestant to reach the Top 12 at the time in the show's history. He was joined on stage by the Bee Gees in the season finale for a performance of "How Deep is Your Love."
After Idol, Kelly appearance on Access Hollywood, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Late Show with David Letterman, The Wendy Williams Show and Good Morning America.
Tickets are on sale now. A limited number of general admission Field Passes are available for purchase at $30. Stadium Reserved Seating tickets are available for $25.
Anyone with a MySheetz Card® will be able to purchase Stadium Reserved tickets for only $20. Cardholders just need to show their card at the ticket office when making their purchase. Fans can sign up for a MySheetz Card at any Sheetz store location.
The gates to the ballpark on Sept. 23 will open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert will start at 6:30 p.m.
Sawyer Brown has been a staple in the country music scene since the early 1980s, with 23 albums, more than 50 charted singles and multiple CMA, ACM and CMT awards. They have climbed to the top of the country music charts with hit songs including "Some Girls Do," "Thank God for You," "Step That Step," and a remake of the George Jones hit, "The Race is On." The band has established themselves as one of the most successful and long-running acts on the country music scene.
As a singer/songwriter, Phil Vassar has hit the Top 5 seven times with songs like "Carlene," "Last Day of My Life" and "American Child" and topped the charts with "In a Real Life" and the perennial favorite "Just Another Day in Paradise." Known as one of Nashville's top tunesmiths, he has written chart-topping hits for Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, David Nail, Colin Raye and Jo Dee Messina. Throughout his career, Vassar has seen the release of eight albums, two ASCAP Songwriter of the Year trophies, been named Billboard Country Songwriter of the Year and more.
On-site parking at the ballpark for the concert will be available for $5. Curve Season Ticket Holders, luxury suite holders, Mini Plan holders and sponsors will be able to pre-purchase parking.
