CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve are excited to host Yuengling Oktoberfest for a third-straight year down on the field at Peoples Natural Gas Field. This year's installment of the event will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 and feature the same great food, music and fun as in previous years with lower ticket prices for this year's event.
Grammy-nominated performers The Dick Tady Orchestra as well as Mr. Oktoberfest Joe Maloy will provide the music for the third annual event from the stage set up out in the outfield of PNG Field. Fans will once again be able to mingle with others down on the field under Oktoberfest-style tenting as in previous years with places to sit as well as places to dance out in the outfield.
A full selection of Yuengling beers like the seasonal 'Oktoberfest' as well as the Traditional Lager, Light Lager, Black & Tan, Porter, and Premium Light will all be available to patrons during the event. German-style food will be available to compliment whichever Yuengling draft your heart desires with bratwurst, pork, pretzels, and pumpkin-flavored funnel cakes among the offerings.
"This has been an event that has been building in popularity since we started it in 2011," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "As the only outdoor Oktoberfest in Blair County, it's filled a niche for those craving a little bit of Bavaria. In addition to bringing back the music, food, and beverages that attendees have enjoyed, we've decided to lower the admission prices in response to their feedback."
Tickets for Yuengling Oktoberfest will now start at $8 for those purchasing in advance (a $2 decrease from 2012). Tickets purchased the day of the event will now be $12, which is $3 cheaper than 2012. The official Yuengling Oktoberfest 2013 T-Shirt will also be available for pre-purchase in a package with a ticket to the event for just $18. Tickets and packages are available by calling the Curve at 877-99-CURVE, visiting www.AltoonaCurve.com, or stopping by the box office at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older to enter.
For those interested in becoming a part of the third-annual event, vendor spaces will be available for $20 per table.
