Dean, Montilla Named D-Braves Players of the Month

Dean, 21, reached base safely in seven of the nine games he played in June including two 3 hit performances. He batted .282 (11 for 39) with two doubles, a triple, and 1 RBI during the span. The Mauldin, SC native was drafted by the Braves in the 17th round of the 2018 amateur draft out of Lenoir-Rhyne University after his selection as a First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference and D-II South Region First Team honoree during his junior season.
Montilla, 20, made two starts in June and was 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA, with just two earned runs and seven strikeouts in 13.0 innings pitched. The Dominican Republic native was signed by the Braves as an international free agent in 2017.
