DANVILLE, Va. - The D-Braves went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position and left eight on base in their 3-0 loss to the Bristol Pirates on Tuesday night at Legion Field.

Danville had runners in eight of nine innings tonight and nabbed seven hits, but were unable to brush across any runs. The D-Braves had runners in scoring position in the first, third and fifth innings, but couldn't brush anything across against the Pirates.
Bristol's Roger Santana went five innings with only allowing four hits and struck out seven D-Braves.
Santana was opposed by D-Braves pitcher Tanner Lawson who started for the first time in his professional career and made his third appearance in his professional career. Lawson gave up a two-run big fly in the top of the third inning to Appalachian League player of the week, Jonah Davis, who ultimately doomed the D-Braves.
Danville's relief pitching kept things in check, giving up one run and five hits in six innings of work. Luis Gamez made a rehab appearance, pitching a scoreless inning and giving up a hit with a strikeout. Bradey Welsh gave up a run in the top of the fifth, but settled in nicely with three innings, four hits and a strikeout. Zach Daniels came in the game and provided two scoreless innings with no hits and struck out one.
CJ Alexander and Brett Langhorne were bright spots for the D-Braves offense. Alexander picked up his first career triple and posted three hits. Langhorne had his third two-hit game of his career and drew a walk.
D-Braves go on the road for the next week against Greenville Reds and the Elizabethton Twins, then will return to Legion Field to face the Burlington Royals for four games from July 10-13.
