DANVILLE, Va. - The Danville Braves only put together a combined four baserunners all evening in its 4-0 loss to Pulaski on Wednesday night at Legion Field.

The only real scoring opportunity for the D-Braves came in the bottom of the third inning. Carlos Baerga Jr. muscled across the Danville Braves only hit of the evening with an inning-opening double. Baerga would stand still for the next three outs as the D-Braves were unable to advance him. The D-Braves had previously had a season-low of five hits on six different occasions.
Pulaski's Alexander Vizcaino pitched a dandy on Wednesday night, allowing only one hit in seven shutout innings with six strikeouts over 78 pitches. In his fifth start of the year, Vizcaino lowered his ERA from 5.95 to 4.39.
The D-Braves' Matt Rowland was effective as well. In five innings of work, Rowland struck out and only gave up three hits. The only run Rowland gave up was unearned off a two-out error from third baseman CJ Alexander. The next batter, Rowland gave up a double, giving Pulaski a 1-0 lead.
The D-Braves Tanner Allison logged four innings of work, giving up three earned runs, but striking out a career-high seven batters.
The Yankees extended their lead to 2-0 in the top of the sixth inning with back-to-back singles to open the inning. Pulaski sealed their lead as they perfectly executed a double steal, scoring Ezequiel Duran.
Pulaski added two insurance runs in the top of the ninth. The D-Braves fell behind 3-0 off a throwing error from catcher Zack Soria. Nelson Gomez brought the game to its fruition with a one-out homerun to deep left field.
Danville continues its six-game homestand tomorrow against Pulaski. First pitch will be at 7 p.m.
