ABOUT THE HILLCATS: The Lynchburg Hillcats are amidst their 42nd season in the Carolina League in 2017. The 'Cats were as close as anyone to dethroning the reigning champion Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2016, taking game one of the Mills Cup Finals before dropping three straight. The Dash dropped two of three at Lynchburg from May 1-3, taking the middle match of that series 1-0. The Hillcats possess the third-best prospect in the Indians organization according to MLB Pipeline, Triston McKenzie, who is also the 50th-best prospect in baseball on MLB.com's list. McKenzie is scheduled to pitch on Tuesday night.
ABOUT THE MUDCATS: The Carolina Mudcats have switched affiliations for 2017, entering their first year as the High-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Muddies finished with their worst overall record (52-87) in the Carolina League last season. However, Milwaukee is locked and loaded with the fifth-best farm system in baseball according to Baseball America. Carolina has been treated to 10 of Milwaukee's top 30 prospects on MLB Pipeline in 2017, with Corey Ray, the second-best member of the Brewers system and 25th overall prospect in baseball, headlining that list.
BROADCAST INFORMATION: 600 AM-WSJS and 101.3 FM will carry Thursday's series finale against the Hillcats on the radio and online at wsjs.com.
