Winston-Salem to wear Warthogs jerseys in game one of twin bill

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 25, 2017) - Due to a rainout at Myrtle Beach on July 15, which postponed the Dash's scheduled game against the Pelicans, Winston-Salem will play a doubleheader on Tuesday, August 15, against its Southern Division foe at BB&T Ballpark as part of a five-game series from August 14-17. First pitch for game one is set for 5 p.m., and the twin bill will consist of a pair of seven-inning games.

In accordance with the 14 scheduled frames set to be played, the Dash are offering a Fan Appreciation Day special deal of "50 cents per inning", with tickets for the entirety of the doubleheader starting as low as $7 when purchased in advance. As an added bonus, Winston-Salem will don commemorative Warthogs jerseys in game one of the twin bill to honor the team's previous moniker. Select Warthogs jerseys will be auctioned off. For game two, the Dash will wear their regular purple and white home uniforms.

As is the case for every Tuesday home game this season, fans can also buy two infield box tickets and two sodas for $22 by calling the Dash in advance at (336) 714-2287.

The Pelicans will be invading Winston-Salem for the first time since May 9-11, when the two teams squared off in a three-game set. Despite dropping two of three games in that series, the Dash took two of three during their rain-shortened matchup in the Grand Strand in mid-July.

During that time, the Chicago White Sox traded big leaguer Jose Quintana to the Chicago Cubs for four prospects, including 20-year-old Eloy Jimenez. Rated by Baseball America as the second-best prospect in baseball, Jimenez is hitting .424 (14-for-33) with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 10 games played since joining Winston-Salem.

Following their road trip to Buies Creek and Lynchburg, the Dash return to BB&T Ballpark on Monday, July 31, for the second-to-last All-You-Can-Eat For Free Night of the season. For the price of admission, which can range as low as $8, fans can enjoy all the free hot dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers they can handle through the seventh inning.

For tickets and more information about the team's remaining home games, contact the Dash at (336) 714-2287 or visit wsdash.com.
