Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Great Lakes Loons (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in a make-up doubleheader. These are the first two games of a four-game series. Season Series to Date: First meeting between the teams tonight.
Streaks:  The Dragons have lost their last seven games after winning nine of the previous 10.     
Standings:  The Dragons are in fourth place, seven and one-half games behind first place Lansing, and five games behind second place Bowling Green.
2018 Team Notes

  • The Dragons have been the streakiest team in professional baseball in 2018. They started the year with a three-game losing streak, won the next nine games, lost the next eight, won nine of 10, and have lost the last seven.
  • The Dragons team ERA in their 18 wins is 3.62 (164 IP, 66 ER). The ERA in the 19 losses is 7.03 (161.1 IP, 126 ER).
  • The Dragons are 0-8 this season vs. Lansing; 18-11 vs. the rest of the league.

2018 Individual Notes

  • Hendrik Clementina over his last 12 games: six home runs, one triple, 15 RBI, and nine walks.   Clementina is hitting .341 on the year with a .720 slugging percentage. He is tied for second in the MWL in home runs with eight and tied for fifth in RBI with 26 despite being three plate appearances short of qualifying for the batting lead. He would rank seventh in the league in batting average and first in slugging percentage (by 58 points).
  • Miles Gordon over his last nine games: 13 for 33, .394 to raise his average from .132 to .202.
  • Michael Beltre over his last six games: 9 for 25, .360. Beltre has a 31-game on-base streak that is the longest active streak in the league.
  • Jeter Downs has a five-game hitting streak, going 6 for 22, .273, with two home runs, two doubles, and a triple.
  • Stuart Fairchild has a four-game hitting streak, going 7 for 18 (.389) with three doubles.
  • John Ghyzel is second in the MWL lead in saves with six. In 14 appearances, he has a 1.93 ERA.
  • Cory Thompson has allowed earned runs in just one of his 15 relief appearances, posting a 1.40 ERA. 
  • Ryan Nutof has allowed earned runs in just two of his 14 relief appearances, posting a 1.54 ERA.
