Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lake County Captains (affiliate of the Cleveland Indians) in the last game of a four-game series. 
Streaks:  The Dragons have won five of their last six games after an eight-game losing streak which came on the heels of winning nine of the previous 10.     
Standings:  The Dragons are in fourth place, five games behind first place Lansing, and four and one-half games behind second place Bowling Green.
Last Game: Wednesday: Dayton 5, Lake County 4. The Dragons broke a 4-4 tie with a run in the bottom of the eighth inning when Stuart Fairchild doubled with one out and scored on John Sansone's single. John Ghyzel pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his eighth save, getting a game-ending diving catch by Fairchild in left field with the tying run at first base. Fairchild and Andy Sugilio each had two hits for Dayton. Dauri Moreta was credited with the win.
2018 Team Notes

  • The Dragons do not have an error in the series through the first three games. Their last four-game series without an error was August 26-29, 2016 at Bowling Green.
  • The Dragons have been the streakiest team in professional baseball in 2018. They started the year with a three-game losing streak, won the next nine games, lost the next eight, won nine of 10, lost the next eight, and have won five of the last six.
  • The Dragons are batting .314 (60 for 191) in their last six games. They have six home runs in those six games. Their full season team batting average has risen to .254, fifth best in the league.
  • The Dragons team ERA in their last six games is 3.06 (50 IP, 17 ER). The team ERA for the year is 5.13.

2018 Individual Notes

  • Hendrik Clementina is hitting .344 on the year with a .719 slugging percentage. He is tied for first in the MWL in home runs with nine and tied for fifth in RBI with 29 despite being seven plate appearances short of qualifying for the batting lead. He would rank fifth in the league in batting average and first in slugging percentage (by 48 points).
  • Stuart Fairchild over his last 11 games: 15 for 41 (.366) with one home run, four doubles a triple, and seven RBI. He also has a six-game hitting streak, batting .400 (8 for 20) during the streak.
  • Jose Garcia over his last seven games: 9 for 20 (.450) with five RBI and four walks to raise his average from .150 to .190.
  • John Ghyzel ranks first in the MWL lead in saves with eight. In 16 appearances, he has a 1.69 ERA.
