BRADENTON, FL - The Daytona Tortugas and Bradenton Marauders split their double header on Wednesday morning at LECOM Park. The Marauders won game one, 7-1, behind a strong pitching performance from RHP James Marvel. The Tortugas won game two, 4-3, behind a big game from Narciso Crook, who went 3-for-3 with a two-run HR and a double. He fell a triple shy of the cycle.
Bradenton kicked off the day's scoring in the bottom of the first in game one. Adrian Valerio and Albert Baur drove the first two runners in with a pair of singles to go up 2-0. Then, with Tyler Gaffney on third and Baur on second, Alfredo Reyes came up, hit an infield single scoring Gaffney, and Baur came around on a Tony Santillan throwing error to go up 4-0.
In the bottom of the second the Marauders went up 5-0, when Baur drove in Jared Oliva with his second RBI single in as many innings.
Daytona would crack the run column in the top of the fourth, when Tyler Stephenson drove in Taylor Trammell with a two-out double to left to make it 5-1.
In the bottom of the fifth, Bradenton put the game out of reach when Hunter Owen hit a two-run single, scoring both Gaffney and Reyes, to round out the scoring at 7-1.

The Marauders got the scoring started quickly in game two as well. Oliva led of the bottom of the first with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt, then came in to score on a Gaffney double.

After Mitch Nay grounded out to start the frame, the Tortugas were helped out when Ibandel Isabel reached on a dropped pop-up. Two pitches later, Narciso Crook drilled a two-run homer to left to give Daytona their first lead of the day. Following the homer, Morgan Lofstrom singled, and later scored on a throwing error for Daytona's third run. Shane Mardirosian reached on the error, moved to second on a passed ball, and came around to score on a Friedl basehit for the 4-1 lead.
Bradenton inched closer in their half of the fifth with a Jason Delay RBI single against LHP Jesse Adams, making it 4-2.
Then, in the seventh, Delay drove in Alfredo Reyes with a sacrifice fly to center to round out the scoring, 4-3.
