The game between the Shorebirds (12-23) and the Nationals (19-15) was Delmarva’s quickest game of the season, clocking in at exactly two hours.

The Shorebirds struck first in the second inning. Davis Tavárez and Trendon Craig produced back-to-back one-out singles and after a strikeout Mishael Deson started the scoring with an RBI double. With two now in scoring position, Creed Willems drove them both home with a base hit to right.

Fredericksburg grabbed two-runs back on a two-out, two-run error in the fifth.

Delmarva restored their three-run advantage in the bottom half of the frame. Willems started the inning with a triple and Luis Valdez was then hit by a pitch and stole second. A balk allowed Willems to score and after a strikeout Valdez scored on an Isaac De León groundout to make it 5-3.

The FredNats tried to rally back in the eighth. Viandel Peña tripled with one out and came in to score on an error. Daniel Lloyd buckled down from there however, securing the 5-3 win for the Shorebirds.
