SALISBURY, Md. -- The Delmarva Shorebirds, Class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, have brought in four new staff members to their front office in preparation for the 2018 season.
John Reilly enters his first season with the Shorebirds as a Ticket Sales Account Executive. John will sell and manage season ticket memberships, group outings, and assist the ticket department in all facets. Prior to joining the Shorebirds, John worked as an Inside Sales Representative and Ticket Operations Coordinator for the Binghamton Devils, an AHL hockey team affiliated with the New Jersey Devils. John also served as an Athletic Department intern for Binghamton University and as an Operations and Marketing intern with DICK'S Sporting Goods. He graduated from King's College in Wilkes Barre, PA in 2016 while also studying abroad at University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. In his spare time, John enjoys hunting, fishing, and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees.
Will Schaap joins the Shorebirds in a full time role in 2018 as the Director of Stadium Operations. In 2017, Schaap worked with the Shorebirds as the Assistant Director of Stadium Operations/Groundskeeping. Will began his career in baseball with the Columbia Fireflies as the Facilities/Stadium Operations intern during their inaugural season in 2016. Schaap graduated from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Management. In his spare time, Will likes to travel to Major League Baseball stadiums. His goal is to visit every stadium in Major League Baseball.
Sarah Logue has worked for Ovations Food Services (dba Spectra Foodservices & Hospitality) since 2013. Sarah has been in the Food Service field for over 17 years; working for different aspects of the food service industry from fast food, full service, purchasing and receiving, concessions and catering. She graduated from Johnson and Wales in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management with a concentration in Food and Beverage and an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts.
Ms. Logue's background includes being Operations Manager at Harbor Park in Norfolk, General Manager of Food Service at VCU Siegel Center. At VCU, she covered diverse catering and concessions events such as men's basketball games, weddings, and the Governor's Inaugural Ball. She recently came to us from the Greensboro Coliseum Complex where she served as Assistant General Manager. In this capacity she covered Concessions and Catering for the 8 venue Complex. This facility hosts over 1,000 events each year including: athletic events, cultural arts, concerts, theater, educational activities, fairs, exhibits, conventions, convocations, trade and consumer shows.
Jessica Briggs joins the Shorebirds as a Grondskeeping and Operations Assistant. Jessica comes to the Eastern Shore after working as Facility Assistant with the Salem Red Sox in 2017. She earned her bachelor's degree in Sports Management with a concentration in Sports Facility & Event Management from SUNY Cortland in 2017. Jessica is a big fan of the Syracuse Orange and the Dallas Cowboys. In her free time, Jessica enjoys road trips and hanging out with friends. She can't wait to go to Ocean City this summer when she's not at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. Jessica is a native of Fulton, NY.
"We are thrilled to welcome John, Sarah, and Jessica to the Shorebirds team, as well as bring back Will. These individuals bring an abundance of knowledge from their previous experiences and we are happy to welcome them aboard to represent the Delmarva Shorebirds", said Chris Bitters, General Manager.
Opening Night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium is Thursday, April 5th at 7:05 PM against the Asheville Tourists. Season ticket and group outing packages are currently on sale for the 2018 season. The Shorebirds offer full season tickets, half season tickets, a 22-game plan and a 12-game plan along with a number of opportunities for groups to enjoy a night out at the ballpark.
