LOWELL, Mass. - The Lowell Spinners swept the series by winning 7-1 Thursday night at LeLacheur Park.

The Doubledays (13-31) drove in the game's first run on a RBI double from Bryan Lippincott to plate Isaac Ballou in the first inning. The 1-0 lead didn't last long as the Spinners (25-18) tied the game when Danny Bethea cracked a RBI single to drive in Tzu-Wie Lin. Lowell had a big second inning as they scored four runs to take a 5-1 lead. The Spinners didn't look back as they went on to win 7-1.

Sergio Gomez picked up his second win of the season for Lowell as he threw six innings out of the bullpen. Gomez finished with four strikeouts and only allowed one hit.

The Doubledays hit the road for a three game series against the Hudson Valley Renegades. Austin Voth takes the mound for Auburn. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
