Big Inning Hurts Doubledays

Early Big inning leads State College past Doubledays

AUBURN, NY - State College (4-1) scored eight runs in the second inning to go on to win 12-1 over the Doubledays (2-3).

The first four batters reached safely for the Spikes in the second inning. State College went on to bat around and plate eight runs on nine hits. Carson Kelly had a big night at the dish for the Spikes going 3-4 with two walks and a run scored. 

Doubledays starting pitcher Reynaldo Lopez (0-1) picked up the loss as he tossed 1.1 innings in his Auburn debut allowing seven runs on seven hits. Jimmy Yezzo led the Doubledays at the plate going 2-4 with a pair of singles and recording his first RBI of the season.

The Doubledays look to bounce back tomorrow night. Southpaw Kylin Turnbull is scheduled to make his second start of the season. Saturday night is Family Pack night. Fans can get tickets, hot dogs, sodas and a program for only $10. First pitch is set for 6:05.
