Doubledays Edged Out by Jammers
AUBURN, NY - The Doubledays dropped a close game 5-4 to the Jamestown Jammers in a packed house at Falcon Park.
The Doubledays (6-10) scored early with a RBI single off the bat of Jimmy Yezzo to score Bryan Lippincott in the first. Jamestown (10-6) tied the game the next inning when Michael Fransoso scored on an error.
In his home debut, Jake Johansen was outstanding for the Doubledays. The Texas native tossed four innings without allowing a hit. He finished with four strikeouts and allowed one unearned run while retiring the last seven batters he faced.
Jamestown scored four runs on two hits in the fifth to take a 5-3 lead. The Doubledays cut it to a one run lead in the seventh when Jimmy Yezzo came up big again with a RBI double to plate Lippincott. Jamestown was able to hold on to win 5-4.
The Doubledays will play game two against Jamestown tomorrow night. First pitch is 7:05 with Casey Selsor making his home debut for the Doubledays.
