AUBURN, N.Y. - The Auburn Doubledays open the 2013 season at Falcon Park tonight against the Batavia Muckdogs.
This marks the first time since 2010 that the Doubledays open the season at home. Auburn is looking for its fourth straight opening day victory over Batavia. The two teams squared off 12 times last season with the Doubledays getting the upper hand 7-5.
Three familiar faces are back to lead the Doubledays. Gary Cathcart returns for his third season as Auburn's manager. Cathcart has led the Doubledays to two straight division titles. Sam Narron returns for his second season as the pitching coach and Luis Ordaz enters his third season as hitting coach.
The Doubledays are aiming to win the Pinckney Division for the third year in a row. Auburn has won the division eight times since 2002. First pitch is set for 7:05 with fireworks after the game!
