In game six of the series between the Fayetteville Woodpeckers and the Down East Wood Ducks, solid pitching led the way in the first three innings by Woodpeckers starter, Nodal and Woodies starter, Curry. The Woodies were the first to reach scoring position in the first but were kept off the base paths in the second and third innings as Nodal had 4 strikeouts through 3.0 innings. The Woodpeckers had two in scoring position with one out in the top of the second, failing to score as Curry got a strikeout and pop out to end the inning. Through 3.0 innings, Curry struck out 3 batters.

In the fourth both teams scored. The Woodpeckers reached on a throwing error by the second baseman, Cueva, allowing Perez to stroll into second base before scoring on an RBI single by Rolando Espinosa to take the lead at 1-0. In the bottom half a double by Ortiz led off the fourth, scoring on a single from Yeison Morrobel, tying the game at 1-1. Curry ended his night on the mound after throwing a scoreless fifth with his final line being 5.0 innings, 3 hits, 1 unearned run, and 7 strikeouts. The Woodies packed on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth. Nodal left the game after giving a one out single to Cueva, Foggo entering for the Woodpeckers. Foggo walked the first batter he faced, striking out the second, and allowed a single to Ortiz. The single from Ortiz scored Cueva from second, allowing Mesa to go first to third, scoring on a fielding error by the center fielder to make it 3-2 Woodies up.

Kai-Noa Wynyard relieved Curry in the 6th, throwing three impressive innings in his second appearance out of the Woodies pen this year, recording 9 outs on 10 batters. The Woodies added one more insurance run in the bottom of the eighth against Woodpeckers reliever, Nic Swanson, with Mitchell reaching on a walk, advancing to second on a wild pitch, and scoring on an RBI single by Ian Moller, Woodies up 4-1. Jackson Kelley closed the game out in the ninth for the Woodies, striking out two of three to pick up the save, his first of the year in a 4-1 Woodies win. Curry was credited for the win on the night.
