The Woodpeckers catcher, Freddy Guilamo, had no answer for the woodies on the base path. Allowing seven steals during the game, a lot of times putting the Wood Ducks in scoring position. The Woodpeckers scored first in the top of the 1st to give them a 1-0 lead, but it was all downhill from there. Winston Santos threw for 7 innings with 10 strikeouts and only allowing that one run. The woodies tied the ball game in the bottom of the 1st with Maximo Acosta hitting an RBI single driving in Cam Cauley. In the bottom of the 5th, Marcus Smith stole second and third on back-to-back pitches. He was driven in on a single from Maximo Acosta, giving him his second RBI of the day. On the next at bat, Tucker Mitchell drilled a ball deep over the left field wall scoring himself and Maximo. The Woodies now lead 4-1. After a double in the bottom of the 6th by Yosy Galan, he steals third and is brought in on an RBI single by Cam Cauley. The Wood Ducks win the game 5-1 and take the series five games to one.

The Wood Ducks (21-24) will be back next week, on Tuesday, May 31st, to face the Charleston RiverDogs, as the first pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. in Kinston, NC at Grainger Stadium.
