Eastlake, Ohio-Lake County's Eric Haase collected two hits and drove in three runs and the Captains broke open a one-run game with three runs in the eighth inning to defeat the Dayton Dragons 7-3 on Wednesday night.  The Captains took advantage of 12 walks to pick up their second straight win in the series.  The Dragons fell to 3-9 on the year while Lake County improved to 4-7.

Lake County scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning as Dragons starting pitcher Ismael Guillon struggled with wildness, issuing four walks and four wild pitches, as the Captains took a 2-0 lead.  The Dragons scored in the second when Jeff Gelalich reached on an infield single, went to second on a ground out, stole third, and scored on Joe Hudson's ground out to shortstop to make it 2-1.  Lake County scored two in the fourth to push their lead to 4-1.

The Dragons scored in the seventh to draw within two.  Junior Arias lined a double to left-center field to start the inning and stole third.  He scored on Brent Peterson's one-out single to right field to make it 4-2.

The Dragons pulled to within one run in the eighth and had a great chance to tie or take the lead.  Zach Vincej reached on an infield single to start the inning and scored on Jesse Winker's double to left-center to make it 4-3.  Seth Mejias-Brean reach on a fielder's choice as Winker remained at second with no one out.  Gelalich sacrificed the runners to second and third, and Arias drew an intentional walk to load the bases with one out.  But Hudson lined out to shortstop and Robert Ramirez grounded to second to end the threat.

Lake County scored three runs against Dragons reliever Mo Wiley in the eighth to push their lead to 7-3 and close out the scoring.

The Dragons finished with 10 hits.  Peterson was 3 for 4 to raise his batting average to .550.  Arias and Winker each had a double.

Dragons starting pitcher Ismael Guillon (0-2) tossed three and one-third innings and allowed four runs on only one hit, but he walked nine and also uncorked five wild pitches.  Guillon struck out five and suffered the loss.  Joel Bender replaced Guillon in the fourth and was outstanding.  He worked three and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and no runs with one walks and two strikeouts.  Mo Wiley replaced Bender to start the bottom of the eighth and was touched up for three runs.  He allowed two hits and two walks.  Sean Lucas replaced Wiley with the bases loaded in the eighth and allowed a two-run single as Lake County opened a four-run lead.

The Dragons play at Lake County on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to close out the series.  Drew Cisco (1-0, 1.38) will start for Dayton.  Cisco has allowed just two runs this season in 13 innings and has issued only one walk.  The next Dragons home game is Friday, April 19 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods at 7:00 p.m.

Notes:  Dragons first basemen Carlos Sanchez and Nick O'Shea are both expected to go on the disabled list with knee injuries suffered in Tuesday's game.
