Drillers Back at ONEOK Field Thursday for 7-Game Homestand

Tulsa to host Arkansas and Springfield
July 23, 2013

The Tulsa Drillers will conclude the month of July with a 7-game homestand at ONEOK Field that will begin on Thursday, July 25. The stand will open with a four-game series against the Arkansas Travelers (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) July 25-28, and will finish with a three-game set versus the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) that will run July 29-31.

All seven games in the stand will begin at 7:05PM in downtown Tulsa.

The promotions schedule will include Margaritaville Night/Thirsty Thursday on July 25, Friday Night Fireworks on July 26, Grand Slam Saturday/OKC Thunder Night on July 27 and $2 Tuesday on July 30. The stand will conclude with Bark in the Park Night on Wednesday, July 31.

The Drillers will look to reverse a July trend. They are only 2-8 in home games during the month. Overall, Tulsa is .500 at ONEOK Field this season, winning 25 and losing 25.

Arkansas has won five of the eight meetings between the two teams in Tulsa this year, while the Drillers have split the eight home games with Springfield.

Individual tickets to all seven games are now available online at TulsaDrillers.com, in person at the ONEOK Field Ticket Office (201 N. Elgin Avenue) or over the phone by calling (918) 744-5901.

ALL THE SAME:  Through the season's first 99 games, the Drillers team batting average was identical for both home and road games. They were hitting .236 in 50 home games and .236 in 49 road games.

TOUGH DECISIONS:  Starting pitcher Christian Bergman has recorded a 2.52 ERA in 10 starts at ONEOK Field this season and has held opponents to a .241 batting average. A lack of run support has left Bergman with deceiving 1-3 record at home.

NINA AT HOME AT HOME:  Second baseman Angelys Nina hits 100 points higher at ONEOK Field than on the road. He has a .337 average at ONEOK Field and a .231 mark on the road. In addition, six of his seven home runs have come in games played in Tulsa.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE: Three Drillers infielders lead their respective positions in fielding according to Texas League statistics. Nina leads all second basemen with a .980 fielding percentage. Jayson Langfels leads the third basemen with a .969 mark and Cristhian Adames leads all shortstops with a .970 percentage. Also, the Drillers lead all TL teams with a .981 fielding percentage.
