Spring Training Action Coming Soon For Drillers

Club to Prepare Under Ryan Garko for 2017 Campaign

Going into their third year of being the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Tulsa Drillers will again have the privilege of training at one of the top Spring Training facilities in the nation. Like their parent club, the Dodgers, the Drillers will prepare for the upcoming season at the Camelback Ranch - Glendale complex.

The $121 million facility is located in Glendale, Arizona with the big-league stadium being the largest in the Cactus League with its ability to hold 13,000 fans.

The Drillers first official workouts for pitchers and catchers will take place the last week of February. The full squad will begin combined workouts under second-year manager Ryan Garko by the second week of March.

Tulsa is slated to play a total of 18 exhibition games this Spring in Arizona. The Spring Training opener is scheduled for Monday, March 13 against a familiar foe in the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.

The 2017 Spring Training schedule will feature the Drillers competing against a variety of teams. In addition to the RoughRiders, the Drillers will also face:

Pensacola Blue Wahoos        (Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds)

Akron RubberDucks               (Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians)

Midland Rockhounds             (Double-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics)

San Antonio Missions             (Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres)

Arkansas Travelers                 (Double-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners)


All games will be played in the Phoenix area and are scheduled to begin at 1:00PM Mountain Standard Time.

Upon the conclusion of Spring Training, Tulsa will open the regular season with a six-game road trip that is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 6 against the Midland RockHounds. The home opener will take place one week later on Thursday, April 13 when the Drillers host the RockHounds at ONEOK Field.
