The Greenville Drive will have another representative on hand for the South Atlantic League All-Star Game, as the league announced that Lorenzo Cedrola has been added as a reserve outfielder for the Southern Division.
In 54 games with the Drive through Friday, Cedrola is hitting .269 with 53 hits, two homers, 21 RBI and 12 stolen bases. He also put together a 12-game hitting streak from May 24th-June 3rd, the longest streak by a Drive player this season, and the sixth longest streak in the league.
"Lorenzo has stood out for us all year long, both at the plate and in the outfield, and he is extremely deserving of this selection as a South Atlantic League All-Star," said Drive Manager Darren Fenster. "We couldn't be happier that he will be joining our other four representatives in Columbia as a reward for his efforts and his hard work."
Cedrola is one of five Drive representatives who have received All-Star honors, joining pitchers Logan Boyd and Stephen Nogosek, catcher Roldani Baldwin, and hitting coach Wilton Veras.
The 58th annual South Atlantic League All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday night at 7:05 at Spirit Communications Park in Columbia, South Carolina.
