Greenville, SC - As part of the ongoing commitment to showcasing top amateur baseball programs at Fluor Field, the Greenville Drive are excited to announce that they will be hosting three high school games in the month of March, which will feature nationally-recognized teams from the state of South Carolina.
Representing the Upstate as part of these games will be Christ Church Episcopal School, Greenville High School, J.L. Mann High School, St. Joseph's Catholic School and Wren High School. Lexington High School, annually one of the top programs in the Columbia area, will also play at Fluor Field.
"We are excited to host some of the top high school programs in the state of South Carolina this month," noted Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko. "Each of these programs has consistently put players to college baseball and beyond, and baseball fans in the Upstate will enjoy seeing these teams in action at the all-new Fluor Field as they take aim at state championships in 2017."
The first game of the high school schedule is scheduled for Wednesday, March 15th with a fierce rivalry between the Greenville Red Raiders and the J.L. Mann Patriots at 6:00 PM. Both schools have been featured among national rankings in the last several years, and many of their recent players can be found all over college rosters in the state of South Carolina.
The action continues on Saturday, March 18th as the Lexington Wildcats and the Wren Hurricanes square off at 4:00 PM. The game will serve as the conclusion to an exciting weekend at Fluor Field, which includes single-game tickets for the 2017 Drive season being put on sale, as well as the St. Paddy's Day Dash and Bash at Fluor Field on Saturday morning.
Another crosstown rivalry will take place at Fluor Field on Thursday, March 23rd as the Christ Church Cavaliers will take on the St. Joseph's Knights at 6:00 PM. These two programs host their matchup every season in Downtown Greenville, and the Drive are excited to continue that tradition in 2017.
