Reedy River Rivalry Game to be Televised

Game to be aired across South Carolina, in parts of North Carolina and Georgia

Despite being one of the toughest tickets at Fluor Field, baseball fans from across the Upstate and beyond will still be able to watch the Reedy River Rivalry matchup between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers if they aren't at the game.

The Greenville Drive and WMYA-TV announced today that they have partnered to broadcast the Reedy River Rivalry live on March 1st. WMYA My40 will serve as the flagship station, airing the game in the Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina, and stations in Charleston (WTAT), Columbia (WOLO), Myrtle Beach/Florence (WPDE), Charlotte (WCCB), Augusta (WJBF) and Savannah (WJCL) will also broadcast the game to their respective markets. The game will also be able to be viewed online at ESPN3.com. First pitch of the Reedy River Rivalry game is set for 2:05 PM.

Drive General Manager Eric Jarinko commented on the announcement, saying, "The Drive is delighted to showcase Fluor Field and televise this premier matchup of two of the nation's top collegiate programs. This broadcast promises to be a big win for Tiger and Gamecocks fans, our Drive corporate partners, and all who appreciate the excitement of this great baseball event in Downtown Greenville."

The 2013 and 2011 Reedy River Rivalry games each drew 7,125 fans, while 2010's contest drew 7,105, which stand as three of the four largest crowds in Fluor Field's history. This year's contest will continue to be one of the most sought after tickets in collegiate baseball.

"We are thrilled to be able to televise the Reedy River Rivalry game at Fluor Field for the second consecutive season," stated Jack Connors, General Manager of WMYA. "This is one of the premier rivalries in all of college baseball, and we are proud to add this game to our year-round sports offerings that already include the Drive and other minor league baseball, locally produced college and high school football and basketball."

Drive Co-Owner and President, Craig Brown, summed it up, saying, "This broadcast from Fluor Field will make it possible to share the exciting atmosphere of a truly classic college rivalry with fans from across the state and region, who would not otherwise be able to enjoy this special Downtown Greenville baseball experience. Viewers who tune in will see two of the nation's most talented and popular college programs compete in front of a capacity crowd, in one of the most beautiful ballparks in the country."
