Blue Jays Open Series Doubleheader with Back to Back Losses

Clearwater, FL.--- In the third doubleheader of the last week, Dunedin can't find the recipe for a win on Tuesday.   
Game 1
The Blue Jays looked to come back from an off day with a refreshed mindset after a series finale victory over St. Lucie on Sunday. Brock Deathrage started the game with authority for the Flying Tigers by putting the second pitch of the game into the netting over right field to give Lakeland a 1-0 lead. Dunedin grabbed the lead right back in the bottom of the inning against Casey Mize by drawing walks and working the pitch count. Demi Orimoloye gave the Blue Jays the lead with a double to the right field gap. The bases were loaded for Kevin Vicuña to make it a big inning, but Casey Mize struck out Vicuna to get out of the jam.
The Flying Tigers put up seven unanswered runs between the 2^nd through 5th inning including two three spots in the 4^th and 5^th. They tied the contest up at 2 with a double steal of home by Dylan Rosa. Allgeyer then allowed his second home run of the game from the bat of Brady Policelli. Later in the 4^th, Luke Sherley singled home two runs to make the deficit 5-2. Dunedin didn't record a hit again until the 5^th inning, but Lakeland had put things out of reach with a double from Kody Clemens to score two.
Ryan Noda brought some life back into the game with a two-run home run to deep right-center field, but the comeback was futile as the Blue Jays fell 8-4 in game one.
Game 2
The weather took a turn for the worse it seemed going into the second game of the doubleheader with dark clouds surrounding the stadium. One hit was allowed through the first three innings, and the rain appeared to be creeping in. Lakeland squeezed across a run in the 4^th by Kody Clemens coming home on a passed ball by Javier Hernandez. Josh Winckowski was great in his 6.0 IP with just the one run allowed, but the run support didn't come through in this outing. Winckowski sits at a 1.50 ERA so far in his four outings with Dunedin.
Dunedin threatened in the rainy 5^th inning after Kacy Clemens lead off the frame with a double, but an incredible diving catch from Reece Hampton saved the inning for Lakeland. A double play off of a line drive by Samad Taylor summed up the rough night for the Blue Jays, and the insurance run tacked on by the Flying Tigers ended the game 2-0.
The Blue Jays will welcome a new day on Wednesday against the Flying Tigers with first pitch at 6:30 PM.
