Clearwater, FL.---RHP Maximo Castillo came into his start this evening having not lost in more than a month and continued
his recent successful stretch with a seven inning performance to lead Dunedin to the 6-2 win over the Clearwater Threshers
on Monday night at Spectrum Field.
The Dunedin offense continued their momentum from yesterday and banged out 12 hits in the victory. In the bottom of the
second, Demi Orimoloye was hit by the pitch on the lower back to kick-start the rally. Kacy Clemens then hit one through
the shift for a single to right-center to put two aboard. Kevin Vicuña stepped to the dish and looped a double down the left
field line to score Orimoloye and Clemens. Norberto Obeso followed promptly with an RBI triple and Nick Podkul finished
off the rally with an RBI sacrifice fly to push the Dunedin lead to 4-0.
Luke Miller drilled a homer to right for Clearwater in the top of the fourth, but the Jays answered right back with a two-run
missile off the bat of Kacy Clemens over the right-center wall to push the Blue Jays lead to 6-1.
That was all the support Castillo needed, as the righty went on to retire the next 14 of 16 hitters he faced. On the other
side, RHP Jack Perkins made his second start of the year for Clearwater and threw just two innings, giving up four earned
runs over five hits.
