The two teams setup for their third game in under 24 hours as first pitch today was at 1 pm. After a dramatic ending last night, Dunedin and Jupiter looked to keep the great play going into the series finale. Graham Spraker was on the hill coming in with a 1.99 ERA. He gave up a couple of hits in the 1st inning, but he was able to get out of trouble striking out Lazaro Alonso with a man on second. The Hammerheads recorded two hits in the 2nd inning; however, they attempted to run on Alejandro Kirk and paid the price. He threw out both runners for the final two outs in the inning. Spraker found himself in trouble with two outs in the 4th inning with the bases loaded. He walked Cameron Baranek to load the bases, and was set to face Connor Grant. Spraker got Grant to ground out to Ryan Noda to end the inning and keep the game scoreless. After giving up one hit through the next five batters he faced, Spraker finished the day lowering his ERA to 1.69 for the season.
The Blue Jays offense could not find a rhythm as they couldn't put together more than one hit in an inning through the first eight frames. A double from Alejandro Kirk in the 2nd inning extended his hit streak to seven games, and Ryan Noda had the other extra base-hit of the day with a double to left field. It was in the 8th inning when the Blue Jays had their first opportunity to push a run across to break the scoreless tie. Cal Stevenson hit a soft grounder through the hole at second base to right fielder Connor Grant. Chavez Young came flying around third base looking to beat the throw home, but a close play at the plate saw Young get tagged out to keep the game even.
Connor Law and Dany Jimenez were spectacular out of the bullpen, giving up just one hit in 3.1 innings. Jimenez shut the door in the 9th inning to give the Blue Jays a chance to end the game in the bottom of the 9th for the second time in under 24 hours.
Ryan Noda started the inning with a walk after Cullen Large popped out to Cameron Baranek. Alejandro Kirk followed up with a single to right-center field to advance Noda to second base. Kacy Clemens came up after striking out in each of his first three appearances looking to end the game. He worked the count and then got a pitch to drive back up the middle. Cameron Baranek made it a close play at the plate for the second inning in a row, but this time Ryan Noda beat the throw to end the game in walk-off fashion two days in a row.
Dunedin still sits in first place of the Florida State League North Division with a 21-16 record. They are currently 1.5 games ahead of Daytona for first place. Dunedin heads to Lakeland for two games with the first game on Friday at 6:30 pm and the second away game going on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
