The Dunedin Blue Jays finally came back down to earth after winning 14 of 15 games and posting a miniscule 1.58 team ERA over the last two weeks, losing 9-3 to the Florida Fire Frogs on Wednesday night at Dunedin Stadium. The Fire Frogs took an early 3-0 lead before coasting to the series finale victory, finishing the Blue Jays and Fire Frogs season series and leaving Dunedin with a 6-4 overall record against Florida in 2018.

Cumberland hit a solo shot in the seventh to increase the deficit further. Two singles, a ground out, and a passed ball allowed an additional run in the eighth to make it 9-2.
Dunedin attempted a rally in the ninth, pushing across a run on singles by Clemens and Gudino, a walk, and a hit by pitch, but the Blue Jays left the bases loaded to end the game.
