This season, the Durham Bulls have teamed up with the Vs. Cancer Foundation as part of the organization's Minor League Baseball Vs. Cancer initiative. The Bulls will host a Vs. Cancer game on Sunday, Sept. 1 against the Gwinnett Stripers at 5:05 p.m.
Vs. Cancer was founded by Chase Jones, a former UNC Baseball player who was diagnosed with a Stage IV brain tumor his freshman year of college, for athletes and sport organizations to have a platform to raise funds for childhood cancer. 50 percent of the proceeds the Bulls raise from this night will fund family support and child life programs for the Duke Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant Program, while the other 50 percent will go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to help fund pediatric brain tumor research.
More children die of cancer than any other disease, and of those cancers, brain tumors are the deadliest.
You can help the Bulls fight cancer by donating to our team. Proceeds from your donation will fund child life programs at the Duke Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant Program and help find a cure for pediatric brain tumors.
