Norfolk, VA --- Mike Brosseau and Christian Arroyo homered, while Jason Coats drove in three to lead the first place Durham Bulls to a three-game road sweep over the Norfolk Tides 9-5 on Thursday afternoon at Harbor Park.
Arroyo, who homered Wednesday night, took out a slider from Tides starter Luis Ortiz (L, 1-4) for his seventh of the season to trim an early deficit to 2-1. Arroyo went 2-4 on the afternoon, and now has 11 hits in his last four games.
Brosseau doubled in a run in the fifth to extend his hitting streak to 11 games, then homered to left against Clayton, NC native Evan Phillips to complete a three-RBI day.
Trailing 2-1 in the fourth, Durham (28-17) scored four times against Ortiz to gain command. Nick Ciuffo singled home Arroyo, who had reached on a single. Coats then clocked a double inside the third base bag to score two runs. Coats then stole third and scored on an errant thrown by Chance Sisco for a 5-2 lead.
