April 28, 2013
Syracuse, NY --- Ten unanswered runs in the last three innings shot the Durham Bulls past the Syracuse Chiefs 13-3 on Sunday afternoon at NBT Bank Stadium.
The Bulls (16-8) scored six unearned runs in the seventh inning, taking advantage of two errors by Chiefs' shortstop Zach Walters to take command. Brandon Guyer scored on the play to give the Bulls a 4-3 lead. After a walk to load the bases, Jason Bourgeois hit a hard grounder to Walters, who short-hopped his catcher attempting to force out Cole Figueroa at home. The error made it 5-3 Bulls, then the gates opened up. Wil Myers flared a two-run single to right, with Leslie Anderson doubling home a run to make it 8-3. Vince Belnome grounded an RBI-single to center to cap the six-run, 12-batter inning.
