Late Tides Double Drowns Bulls, 1-0

Pruitt Tosses Seven Scoreless In No-Decision
June 18, 2016

Norfolk, VA --- Dariel Alvarez doubled home the game's only run in the eighth inning as the Norfolk Tides edged the Durham Bulls 1-0 on Saturday night at Harbor Park.

Alverez hit a pitch from Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Ryan Webb with two outs to score Corban Joseph for a 1-0 lead. Webb was working in his second rehab appearance coming back from a pectoral injury, and his first with the Bulls.

Austin Pruitt threw seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits and striking out five to earn a no-decision.

Durham (30-40) managed just two hits in the game, one off of Norfolk (25-44) starter Ariel Miranda, and the other against Oliver Drake (S, 10) in the ninth.

The Bulls wrap up their nine-game road trip on Sunday afternoon with Adam Wilk (2-6, 2.97) opposing Tides righthander Joe Gunkel (3-4, 3.44) at 1:05 PM ET.
