New Features Enhance Durham Bulls Fan Experience

Playground 42, Angus Barn, new beer flavors among ballpark additions
April 6, 2016

DURHAM, NC - With the 2016 Durham Bulls season beginning on Thursday, April 7, the organization is pleased to announce a number of additions to Durham Bulls Athletic Park, enhancing the fan experience. A new area for fans to watch the game, new food vendors and new beer flavors hit the stadium for the 2016 campaign.

A brand new feature fans will notice on Jackie's Landing will be Playground 42 presented by Delta. The new area will be equipped with cornhole boards, shuffle board, a putting green and more in an open-air environment, while overlooking the DBAP and Durham skyline.

The ballpark welcomes two new food vendors for the 2016 season in Angus Barn and Makus Empanadas. Fans now have the opportunity to enjoy original Angus Barn Steak and Cheese sandwiches, bringing the Triangle staple to the DBAP for the very first time. Makus Empanadas, a new addition to the Triangle food scene, will be serving its signature dish in the stadium's leftfield corner throughout the year.

When fans enter the main entrance of the ballpark this season they'll be greeted by two new video boards atop the stadium's brick façade. As an ode to the DBAP's history, each 'new' marquee is a piece of the stadium's old video board, which was housed on the leftfield wall prior to the renovations of 2014.

At the top of the stairs of the DBAP's main entrance is Bull Durham Beer Co., which launched in 2015. After debuting with Wheat and Kolsch beers last year, the brewery is adding a White IPA and an Amber Ale in 2016. Any combination of those four flavors will be available throughout the season at the brewery.

"As we continue to welcome well over half a million fans to the DBAP each season, we understand the importance of adding new features to the ballpark to continue making it a premier destination in North Carolina," Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said. "We're excited to unveil these additions, and know they'll make Bulls games even more enjoyable for our loyal fans."
