New HD Videoboards Among Exciting DBAP Upgrades

Three New Video Displays Highlight Major Renovation Project at Durham Bulls Athletic Park
November 19, 2013

The International League Champion Durham Bulls have announced details of new videoboards that will be among the highlights of a $19 million renovation project at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Dallas, TX based TS Sports has been contracted to install three new state-of-the-art, HD displays that will provide better views of instant replays, in-game entertainment and game information.

TS Sports will be installing the following technology at Durham Bulls Athletic Park:

  • Blue Monster Primary Display - 25.4' (h) x 63' (w)
  • Right Field LED Wall Display - 6.5' (h) x 327.6' (w)
  • Club Level Fascia Display - 3.2' (h) x 119.8' (w)

The new primary video display embedded within the DBAP's Blue Monster in left field will be three times the size of its predecessor. To make room for the new primary display, the ballpark's manual scoreboard will be rebuilt and relocated to the right side of the Monster wall. A new LED display will run the length of the outfield wall from center to right field. In addition, a video display will be installed above the new Club Level within the main seating bowl. In total, there will be 3,838,464 LEDs installed in the project.

"We cannot wait to show off the DBAP in 2014," said Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling. "These new video displays will take our game presentation to a whole new level and combined with all of our offseason renovations, they will help to build on the ballpark's reputation as one of the finest in all of baseball."

To complement the new video displays, the Bulls have also partnered with Total Sports Entertainment (TSE) on a complete audio-visual overhaul. A new HD game operations production room will be built and an improved sound system with an increased number of speakers will be installed throughout the stadium.

The Durham Bulls open their Governors' Cup title defense at the newly renovated Durham Bulls Athletic Park on April 3, 2014 versus the Gwinnett Braves.
