July 23, 2016

Moosic, PA --- Ben Gamel singled home Jonathan Diaz with the winning run in the 10th inning to lift Scranton/Wilkes-Barre past the Durham Bulls 6-5 on Friday night at PNC Field.

Diaz walked to start the 10th against Danny Farquhar (L, 3-2) and was bunted to second ahead of Gamel's single to right-center to even the series. Despite the defeat, the Bulls (45-56) remained in a first place tie with Charlotte in the South.

Jaime Schultz labored through four innings, utilizing 98 pitches while permitting three runs (two earned) but walking a season-high six batters.

The Bulls rallied from two separate deficits before taking the lead against Scranton (62-38) in the sixth. Casey Gillaspie clocked a home run, his first at the AAA level. Johnny Field doubled home the tying run before a wild pitch and balk each scored additional runs to give Durham a 5-3 lead.

The Rail Riders scored a sixth inning run against Casey Coleman, then tied the game on a Hank Conger throwing error on a steal of third in the eighth inning.

The series continues Saturday night at 7:05 PM ET with Austin Pruitt scheduled to start for the Bulls.
