The first-place Durham Bulls open a six-game homestand against the Rochester Red Wings and Pawtucket Red Sox on May 29. The team's second annual Touch-A-Truck event, DURM Night, Hispanic Heritage Night and a pair of fireworks shows highlight the event schedule.
The defending Triple-A National Champions open a three-game set against the Rochester Red Wings at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29. The following day the Bulls and Minnesota Twins' top affiliate square off at 1:05 p.m. for day baseball.
On Thursday, May 31 the Bulls will host their third annual DURM Night, as the DBAP celebrates the Bull City. The Bulls will once again wear specially-designed uniforms by local clothing company RUNAWAY, and all game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Durham Bulls Youth Athletic League. Additionally, Thursday's game features $1 Concessions, as Bright Leaf Hot Dogs, Pepsi products and popcorn are just a buck all game long.
On Friday, June 1, the Bulls open a three-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox at 7:05 p.m., presented by EmergeOrtho. The night is the season's first Hispanic Heritage Night, as the Bulls will become the 'Toros de Durham' and wear special uniforms for the occasion. The night will be marked by authentic food, dance groups and special music, as the Bulls celebrate the Hispanic culture of the Triangle. After the game will be a Friday Night Fireworks show presented by bioMerieux.
The series against the Boston Red Sox' Triple-A affiliate continues on Saturday, June 2 at 6:35 p.m., with the evening's game presented by MercuryGate International. Saturday's game is Camp Out Night with the Bulls recognizing local scout troops in a pre-game parade, and after the contest will be a fireworks show presented by JT's Landscaping.
The six-game stanza comes to an end on Sunday, June 3 with the DBAP's second annual Touch-A-Truck event on Blackwell St. The event will begin at 3 p.m., as children of all ages can touch and explore vehicles of their choice, while also learning about the vehicles and first responders who operate them. The evening's game is also First Responders Night presented by CPI Security, and following the contest children get to show off their speed with Kids Run the Bases presented by Nature's Twist.
